Museum of Passions
Museo de Pasiones is the unique publication of the exhibition with the same title that has been on display at the Museo Lázaro Galdiano and the Capilla de los Arquitectos of the Church of San Sebastián (Madrid) since May 5th. With this starting point, the author has worked hand in hand with art historian Horacio Fernández to offer a novel tour of the exhibition in two volumes, one of Word and the other of Image. The first one is composed of an extensive and unconventional conversation between the artist and the historian and the texts by Javier Ortiz-Echagüe, Carmen Espinosa Martín and Benjamín Cano Domínguez. The volume of Imagen is a new way of walking through the rooms to discover the invisible. An ascending tour from the entrance of the Museo Lázaro Galdiano to the lantern of Ventura Rodríguez’s dome in the Chapel of the Architects guided by the flight of the dove of the Spirit.

Cristos y Anticristos
Cristos y Anticristos is the new photobook by artist Javier Viver. In this last work he compiles archive photographs of the Spanish Civil War and the desecration of religious images. On a pocket copy of the Gospel according to Saint Matthew, published in 1930, Javier Viver, incorporates photographs of the Spanish Civil War and the desecration of religious images, in the form of an illustrated bible. But, beyond the illustration of the text, Viver composes a surprising visual account from the sequencing of archive images, as he did in his previous photobook Révélations with
images from the Iconographie de la Salpêtrière, a book that won the National Prize for the best art book in 2015. In this particular contribution to historical memory, Viver aims to exceed
Simplistic readings that ideology imposed on both sides, to discover in human gestures and attitudes the Christs and Antichrists through the most beautiful images of the Civil War and its protagonists. A book that proposes the overcoming of the conflict by means of the memory and the understanding of the human bottom that crosses it. Accompanying the war scenes, the photographs of the desecrated images become particularly interesting, in which the traces of the passion represented by the images are shown in a documentary way, reaching unbeatable levels of realism.
The volume is accompanied by a collection of micro-perforated prints, similar to the ration books of those years, to be cut out and inserted in the different passages of the book. They are images of the war posters that seem to literally reproduce some of the photographs shown. A game in which the author invites the reader to participate in order to complete the story and in which the document and the fiction, the reality and the represented, coexist and question their limits.
